I love this.. so the little wren just kept hanging out until you got up to feed him! That’s so funny. The little pine siskins are the same way here but usually will take off once I get close to the feeder and wait impatiently in the tree bawling me out in pips. Of course.. he could have been using it as a really big umbrella too! How cute is that?
Finally. What a dreary looking day.

aullori, Your pine siskins sound like my chickadees and gold finches. Sometimes, especially with the chickadees, I pretty much have to “move” them out of the way so I can fill the feeders. But the goldfinches sit in the trees (and, I swear, their call sounds like they’re calling me “cheap, cheap”).
I recently read that if you once attract Carolina Wrens and keep on providing suet in the winter and mealy worms in the summer then the wrens will stay with you forever! I think they’re mine now!
wrjones, It was a dreary day. It started out as rain then changed to snow showers. He’s not pooping in his food, I just needed to clean out the seed that had become wet. Birds are actually quite clean!
